She is a PMC member of Apache Flink and a core developer of its graph processing API, Gelly. Vasia has a PhD in Distributed Computing from KTH, Stockholm and UCLouvain, Belgium, and she has previously interned at Telefonica Research and data Artisans. @vkalavri
Dean Wampler, Ph.D., is the Architect for Big Data Products and Services in the Office of the CTO at Lightbend, where he focuses on the evolving “Fast Data” ecosystem for streaming applications based on Flink, Spark, Kafka, Mesos, the Lightbend Reactive Platform, and other tools. Dean is also an advocate for Functional Programming and Scala. He contributes to several open source projects and and he co-organizes several Chicago-area Meetup groups and several conferences worldwide, including Strata + Hadoop World. Dean is the author or co-author of several books from O’Reilly. @deanwampler
Maxim Fateev is a staff engineer at Uber. He’s a technical leader of the Cherami task queue and a workflow service. He was also involved in a project integrating Flink into the company infrastructure. Before Uber, he worked at Amazon Web Services. There he was a technical leader of the Simple Workflow Service and storage backend of the Simple Queue Service. He also worked at Google and Microsoft. @mfateev
Kenn Knowles is a founding PPMC member of Apache Beam (incubating). Kenn has been working on Google Cloud Dataflow—Google’s Beam backend—since 2014. Prior to that, he built backends for startups such as Cityspan, Inkling, and Dimagi. Kenn holds a PhD in programming languages from the University of California, Santa Cruz. @KennKnowles
Aljoscha Krettek is a PMC member at Apache Flink and co-founder and software engineer at data Artisans. He studied Computer Science at TU Berlin, he has worked at IBM Germany and at the IBM Almaden Research Center in San Jose. In Flink, Aljoscha is mainly working on the Streaming API. @aljoscha
