FAQ

What is Flink Forward?

The future of data infrastructure is in real-time stream data processing. Flink Forward is the premier conference on Apache Flink®, one of the most popular systems for stream data processing and one of the most active big data projects in Apache Software Foundation.

The first edition of Flink Forward took place in 2015 at Kulturbrauerei in Berlin. The two-day conference had over 250 attendees from 16 countries. Sessions were organized in two tracks with over 30 technical presentations from Flink developers and one additional track with hands-on Flink training. In 2016, the conference grew and continued to innovate. Over two days of the conference, 350 participants joined presentations on the design and implementation of Alibaba’s Flink-based system and other production use cases, Apache Beam and its relationship with Flink, and the future development of Flink. Over 40 speakers offered 25 hours of technical talks in 3 parallel tracks. Flink enthusiasts were also invited to participate in hands-on training sessions on the third day of event.
